Hells Gate: Another great spa to go while being in Rotorua. An unusual experience, especially for ladies. Hells Gate is very famous for its mud pool, where you can soak yourself in hot mud; it is one of the best treatment for both your body and skin. Along with the warm temperature that heats you up in an icy cold winter night, the mud is perfect for you. It’s located only about 15 minutes’ from Central Rotorua, a very convenient distance so you can play there with your kids for a couple of hours then return to your accommodation as a perfect finish for the day.
Kerosene Creek: Located out near Wai-O-Tapu, Kerosene Creek is a great option if you prefer something a bit more ‘au naturel.’ It is 35 minutes south of Rotorua, a free hot water spring; Kerosene Creek. It’s a mix of Hot water which comes underneath the earth and bubbles up into the calm waters of the creek. It’s a beautiful experience to swim along a 2-metre natural warm waterfall.
Taupo:

It is famous for a patch of thermal water bubbling just under the surface of the sand during low tide.
